On Sunday, Christine, Jamie, and I represented hOURbank at the Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur. We talked to loads of wonderful people. A welcome surprise was that a conversation had already begun among some of the service-inclined residents on the topic of time banking so it was fertile receptive territory.
The atmosphere was festive and summery. I only wish we’d brought some watermelon.
Lisa Goettel’s group of canaries serenaded us with heart-rousing acapella vocals.
Children raced around with painted faces and huddled up on the hillside amid, ferns, and redwood trees.
Big Sur musicians entertained us.
We heard a lecture and Q&A by an adorable farmer who knows her compost. If only I’d gotten her name. And her picture. It’s not super important because we have our own compost wizards, hOURbank members who offer help and education with composting. You can find them listed in the member’s area of the Time and Talents banking database.
We were invited to give a presentation at the Grange, date to be announced.
The whole day was a sunshiny joy.
Peace & Love, Kimberly
